WHO WE ARE
The Back to Basics Music Academy has been established for well over 25 years offering private one-on-one instruction in voice, piano, drums, bass and lead guitar, audio engineering, and studio recording. Back to Basics offers lessons for youth (beginning at age 5) as well as adults.
WHAT WE DO
The Academy provides technical training for singers, musicians, and audio engineers. Our instructors teach practical skills and music theory in private, one-on-one environment to maximize technical growth and development.

When I was a student at Back to Basics Music Academy, I studied piano with the late James Robinson who was a Master at voice and piano. Training under him was rigorous, yet rewarding. This foundation was integral to my studies as a Music Education Major when I was at George Mason University. Being a teacher at Back to Basics Music Academy gave me my start in teaching private lessons and has afforded me many professional opportunities. I have grown as a teacher and musician during my tenure at Back to Basics Music Academy.
Elder Jane Jones
My name is Elder Jane Jones and I am a voice and piano student of Back to Basics Music Academy. I have been an Academy student for more than 4 years and during that time I have received exceptional and quality musical instruction under one of their music professionals. One of the reasons I have continued to receive training from Back to Basics is because of their model of connecting purpose with ministry. Every year the Academy hosts four major concerts for those experiencing homeless in the community. The students receiving training, who qualify, have an opportunity to minister in a concert setting and see how their gifts and talents minister to the needs of the least of these. The ultimate focus of the ministry is to provide for those who are in need of a savior in this world. Through the ultimate love of Christ, the ministry has shared the gospel of Jesus Christ through music instruction. and echoing the need of love and protection of God’s grace and mercy. Lastly, I have grown tremendously because of the Academy both spiritually and in skill, my life and my music ministry have been changed forward. The leadership and staff at the Academy is my family
